Movies which connect 01: American Psycho

American Psycho:
This film has something which inexplicably I connect to and have watched about 5 times.

Its the story about a young Wall Street Banker (investment Banker ...ehm) who morphs into chick slayer by night and looks around New York for sluts/easy blondes he can seduce and kill using uncommon methods... via manual axe/automated saw (used in lumbering and trapping in Canada) and such other stunts
He exercises with Texas Chainsaw murder scene playing in the background!

There is something so fuckin good about Patrick Bateman that I cannot but appreciate the lust he has for things which ordinarily may some heinous
but wickedly enough, I find them as a great work of abstract art, free from boundaries of society and completely savage.
Savagery is reprehensible for sure but is intrinsically looks good here.. "murders and executions"

It brings to the forefront what a man was meant to be...
hunt...kill... eat...fuck...sleep...hunt...kill...

The characterization is almost poetic, and surely the book by Bret Easton Ellis would be a amazing as well. In the hands of female director Mary Harron, Christian Bale takes the Protagonist's absolute numbing performance to epic proportions.

Starting from the opening scene where red berry sauce and blood seem juxtaposed on a plate ...the film establishes its intention and class and sticks to it till the end.

Bateman's apartment looks to be an extension of his personality..
Stark... black/white/grey..... purposeful.....straightforward, no-nonsense, and dead like.Looked to me to be designed by Howard Roark, of all the people.

The early scene where Bateman's friends look at each other's cards and Bateman suddenly become psychotic is so fuckin humorous that I ROFLOL every time.
And I love the name Dorsia.... not sure if there is any Hotel with that name in Pune though. Would have loved it.

Tired of eulogising the movie... its poetry in motion... watch it before you die.
